Questions members ask, and what to answer

Does it cost money? Do I need an app? Who sees my details? The questions you'll often hear during the switch, with short answers you can use as they are.

A switch always brings questions, and they’re usually the same ones. With these answers at hand you can take doubts away quickly. Feel free to use them word for word.

Does it cost me money?

No. The association pays the subscription; for members, Orchesi is free.

Do I need to install an app?

No, but it’s handy. You can use the free app on your iPhone or Android phone, or simply sign in in the browser at orchesi.app. With the app you get rehearsal reminders on your phone.

I don’t have a smartphone. Can I still join?

Yes. Go to orchesi.app on your computer and create your account there. At the Your association step, choose Join an existing association and enter the invite code you get from [name]. You’ll then see exactly the same schedule and sheet music as in the app.

Who can see my details?

You decide yourself whether other members can see your email address and phone number; you set this in your profile. All data is stored on servers in the European Union. Want to know more? Read the privacy policy.

Will I get notifications all day?

No. You only get notifications about things that matter to you, like rehearsal reminders and schedule changes. In the app’s settings you choose which notifications you want.

I’m not very good with apps

You don’t need to be. You mainly use Orchesi for three things: seeing what’s planned, saying whether you’re coming and opening your sheet music. [Name of ambassador] is happy to help, and the help center for members explains everything step by step.

First check your spam folder. An invitation is valid for 7 days; if it has expired, we’ll send you a new one. You can also join with the association’s invite code: ask [name] for it.

Is the group chat staying?

That’s up to your board. A good arrangement: the group chat stays for socializing, but schedules, sign-offs and sheet music only go through Orchesi. That way everyone knows where to find what.
